Comenius Visit- Enfield

Publicado por hayley kirkpatrick em Junho 11, 2008

On Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th June we hosted our Comenius visit at Eversley Primary School in Enfield.  We were very happy to welcome our visitors from Escola Bernardino Machado in Portugal and Ecole du Parc in France.  As well as planning for the project and looking at the work we have carried out since the last visit, our visitors watched year 3 performing a traditional dance, listened to a presentation from the Young Sports leaders, attended the year 2 Partnership Sports at Grange Park, attended whole school assembly, watched Take 10 and ate at the Comenius Café with children from yr 2. The meeting was very successful and we exchanged some interesting ideas for the future which we will develop at our next meeting in Portugal in October.

Traditional food

Publicado por apaiva em Janeiro 6, 2008

As part of our project on Healthy Schools we have been looking at what we eat.  We want to compare our traditional food with foods eaten by children in our partner schools in Portugal and France.

At Eversley we have a wide mix of children and adults whose families come from many different countries and different religions.  We have families who have come from;-
Africa, Australia, Bangladesh, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Latvia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Poland, Sri Lanka,Turkey , USA

Our pupils and staff have a variety of religions.  We have Catholics, Greek Orthodox,
Hindus, Jains, Jews,  Muslims and Sikhs all working together in our school.

Our year 6 pupils (age 10) have created web pages about the traditional food their families enjoy.  We have examples of English, Irish, Greek, Turkish, Vietnamese, Chinese and Indian foods.  We also have examples of traditional Jewish and Muslim foods.  We hope you enjoy our recipes.

English Breakfast       Fish and Chips     Pancakes

Find out about our International Partnership with schools in France and Portugal. Our pupils and staff reflect the diverse multicultural mix of North London and as part of this project we have been collecting traditional recipes. Have a look at our recipe pages.

We strive to provide a wide variety of experiences for everyone and as a result have been awarded a gold Arts Mark and an Activemark.  Have a look at some of the projects and activities that take place throughout the year.
